Markus Lifenet Ltd. in Iceland has been specialized in development and production of man overboard recovery systems since 1979. It has promoted the well known Markusnet man overboard rescue technique to the international maritime world since 1984. In end of 1999 the company launched the 5th generation, the MS Markusnet, which completed the development of the system for general use on all types of deck boats, ships, quay areas and offshore installations.
In 2002 the company launched the first rescue net designed for FRB boats which has become a success as it is very effective and easy to use man overboard recovery device for such boats and is light and takes hardly any space onboard.
The success with the Markus MOB Boat (FRB) Rescue-net led us to develop the Markus man overboard scramble-net for lifeboats, tender boats, public transport boats and lately to offshore coastguard vessels, enable single deck crew to render light, reliable and effective man overboard recovery device to people at the site of such boats which the victim can climb up or be lifted manually onboard by two deck rescuers.
Through the sale of our Man overboard safety and rescue products we introduce the the international maritime world the 40 years of experience with the Markusnet and Markus Man overboard rescue system.
The Markusnet has played an important role as a lifesaver in the Icelandic maritime community. It has been used to rescue many lives during that time, in numerous most difficult rescue operations at sea and in harbours. It has therefore been required on every deck vessel 15 metre (45 feet) and longer in Iceland since 1st January 1986. The MS Markusnet is Lloyd´s Register EMEA type approved for use onboard deck boats, ships and offshore installations. It is recommended and required by regulations in several countries.
The Markusnet has been introduced to the MSC and DE committies at IMO during the development of new requirements III-17.1 in SOLAS for man overboard recovery system on SOLAS ships.
The solution we offer are based on many years of experience and the use of our systems in situations at sea where other tradtional methods have failed.
Our solutions are simple, effective, reliable and realistic when every second counts.
Most of our systems are both for manual and crane use and are reusable without having to repack them.
